I'm not usually one for some big New Year resolution, but I do like "word of the year".
It feels bite-sized, possibly do-able. Something small I can focus on, long after the month of January ends. I've been thinking about it a lot, and the word 'Simplify' feels good in my gut. The mark of a natural winner.
This year, especially these past few months, have been wholly challenging for me in so many ways. My mom got very sick right before Thanksgiving and ended up in the ICU. I thank God, everyday, that she made it through.
Spending six and seven hours at the hospital everyday, I had a lot of time to think about how I spend my time and life's priorities.
I am so glad mom consented to coming home with me on December 22nd. It's been a tough adjustment, especially for her. She's always lived on her own, and would much prefer the role of Caregiver, over the one receiving any sort of help.
This past May, I joined an amazing business coaching group, and I'm learning so much.
Learning how to understand my stores analytics has helped me see what works and where I'm just spinning my wheels. I've learned that analytics clear away guess work or emotional ties. I'm left looking at my numbers in black and white, with my best selling products at the top of those neat little columns.
It's past time for me to make some changes, and to let A LOT of things go. They say change is the only thing permanent thing in life, right?
I'm excited about the changes I have planned for 2023, and it's simple; I want to make more of what you love, and less of what you don't. What's changing for you in 2023?
