A handcrafted wood soap dish designed to prevent your handmade soap from sitting in water. Hardwood soap dishes are moisture resilient and left unfinished. They're sanded to a soft finish with deep ridges that keep your soap dry in between uses.

*If desired, coconut oil is naturally anti-bacterial and can be applied to help create a water-resistant seal. Buffing your wooden soap dish with any type of protective oil will deepen the color.

☞ Spanish Cedar is an aromatic hardwood that is a warmer, almost orange-rusty color.

The soap dishes measure 2.75 inches by 4 inches by 3/4 inch thick. Each dish has been carefully hand-sanded on all edges, creating a soft, elegant finish. They make a great addition to any soap gift.

It is normal for these wood dishes to initially bleed a bit of color when saturated with water. This is from the natural tannins in the wood, and is temporary.
These dishes extend the life of your handmade soaps, and buying them in pairs extends the life of the soap dish, too:

Use one soap dish for 2-3 weeks, and then wipe clean with a damp cloth and set aside to allow it to fully dry out. Use the second dish for 2-3 weeks while the first dish dries out, and then alternate them this way.

Allowing dishes to fully dry out every few weeks will prevent them from becoming waterlogged and prevent mold and mildew from developing. Rotating them out this way greatly increase the life of a soap dish!
